About Rockfishing

Rockfishing is a modern form of saltwater lure fishing, originating from Japan, and now popular all over the world. Here in the UK, rockfishing is split into two categories; LRF (Light Rock Fishing) and HRF (Hard Rock Fishing). Broadly speaking, LRF is the lighter end of the sport, targeting all manner of species with light rods and rigs. HRF has a focus on the UK’s largest ‘rockfish’, the Ballan Wrasse, and uses heavier tackle to suit.
